Pistachio Salmonella? This can't be happening!

Salmonella on Pistachios? This is really, really bad. Especially for my family. We love that green nut very much. For the past year, we've been ingesting tons of pistachios in form of ice cream! Then, we'll learn that pistachios have Salmonella?!! I don't know how many food items will be affected by this ";[#@##*& Salmonella thing!

The salmonella scare in pistachios started last week when FDA received calls from a couple of persons complaining about gastrointestinal discomforts associated with the nuts.

Salmonella, the most common cause of food-borne illness, causes diarrhea, fever and cramping. Most people recover, but the infection can be life-threatening for children, the elderly and people with weakened immune systems.
If this Salmonella Pistachios scare is true, all I can say is, THIS IS REALLY NUTS!!!

Two of the Octuplets are now home!!!

Two of the octuplets, Noah and Isaiah, were brought home by their mother Nadya Suleman. The two babies were released from Kaiser Permanente Medical Center because they are now in stable conditions and can be bottle-fed. The remaining 6 were left at the hospital for further treatments. The two octuplets arrived home evening of March 17, Tuesday.

Peanut allergy is a kind of food allergy where a person suffers allergic reactions by eating peanuts or peanut-based products. Studies show that 0.4-0.6% of the population has peanut allergy. The reaction of peanuts on those with allergies are sometimes so severe and fatal that some states banned bringing peanut butter sandwiches for lunch at schools. Modern technology, however, had found a new therapy that may cure peanut allergy. Note that this should only be done UNDER THE SUPERVISION OF A DOCTOR. The process is called Oral Immunotherapy. This peanut allergy therapy is done by giving patients small but escalating doses of peanut protein. They will give increasing dose of peanut protein everyday to make the system "immune". The therapy can take up to 8 months but is said to cure peanut allergies. I think this peanut allergy cure is very helpful. It can help the anxious parents, and it can also help in making people enjoy the most delicious sandwich, PB&J!

It is very unfortunate that he had chosen to throw shoes to a US President (many think he deserves it, LOL). He was sentenced to 3 years imprisonment. Imagine serving three years for throwing a shoe to a deserving target? Well, that's life. After all, he was a US President. He can get this man killed if he wanted. But the kind-hearted President won't do that, of course. Muntazer al-Zaidi's lawyers said that they will have an appeal because the sentence was "too harsh".

It really felt so sad, more than the sadness that I felt after finishing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, of course. It's like I lose a friend while he is not really a friend but an idol. Something in me doesn't seem right. I felt like as if I lose someone close to me because I’m his fan. Not that buy-those-albums-and-go-to-the-concerts-fan, but I really like him. I liked him for being the person that he was, because he lived his life to the fullest. Who would have thought that a person who died in his 40’s have done so many things. I envy his tattoos for I have none. I admired the way he lead his 8 kids. I admire him. He will be missed. Goodbye and thank you, Francis M.

It's not Angelina, it's Barbie! Just in time for spring, Mattel released "Tattoo Barbie" or "Totally Stylin' Tattoo Barbie" ($23). It's Barbie with a tattoo! Would you imagine Barbie lying on a tattoo shop bed, having her arm or belly done? Well, for me, Barbie is too old for tattoo, and if I were that age, I'll be having my retirement, not a tattoo! LOL. But Barbie's still selling, now that Bratz's gone, there's no other choice but to have Barbie. Look at Barbie's pic here:

David Paradiso Attacked Cinda Fox!!!

Murder suspect David Paradiso attacked a judge

David Paradiso, a suspect for killing his girlfriend Eileen Pelt, attacked the trying judge, Cinda Fox. David Paradiso was said to attack the San Joaquin County Superior Court Judge while having a break during trial. David Paradiso attacked the judge from behind and stabbed Cinda Fox on the arm. David Paradiso was shot to death by a court officer, Eric Bradley. More updates to come regarding the attack, and the death of the attacker, David Paradiso.

Smoke Eaters serves fried wings and chicken tenders in almost all sort of sauces! Of course, one can really think about Smoke Eaters after hearing Hot Wings!!! A site had a review of Smoke Eaters in San Jose ( they also has a branch in Santa Clara) and commentators said that Smoke Eaters is indeed a nice place for hot wings and cold beer, but you have to park your car in the street. For sports lovers, there are lots of TVs where you can watch the game of the day. The bathroom is not very clean for their taste, and others say that the floor in Smoke Eaters is very very sticky! Another minus is there are no changing tables, so don't bring a baby in Smoke Eaters!!! Well, the good news is, during Tuesdays, Smoke Eaters has a 50% off of wings! So, I say dig in every Tuesday!
