Imagine your mobile phone was stolen. Of course you were devastated thinking that you spent 2 months living in crackers and cheese just to have the cell phone of your dreams. Maybe, just maybe, before that damn thing happened, you were able to find out what your mobile phone's IMEI number is. AND knowing your phone's IMEI number MIGHT save you.=)
You see, IMEI stands for International Mobile Equipment Identity. IMEI number or the serial number is on all GSM and UMTS mobile phones, given that they are the original thing. Mobile phone companies can use the IMEI number to identify valid subscribers and the type of equipment used. The carrier will use the number to disable the phone in the event it is stolen or reported lost and customize data content to be compatible with the type of equipment used, among other things. It is a MUST to find or know your IMEI number and write it down just in case.

How to find the IMEI serial number of your mobile phone?

Here's the Step-by-step guide on how to know your IMEI number:

1. Ensure your phone is powered on.
2. Return to the "idle" screen, or your "desktop". If you were in the middle of a call, end it, and clear any numbers you pressed while making that call.
3. Press the following keys one by one: * # 0 6 #
4. As you press on the last #, a number will appear with the title, IMEI number, or similar.

Another method of knowing your IMEI number:

1. Turn off your phone.
   
2. Remove the battery.
3. Look on the phone for a white sticker/label, which would be now exposed after removing the battery, for the IMEI. It would be 15 or 17 digits not including a few forward slashes included and without any letters. Only the first 15-digits are needed.
4. If the phone is not available or if the label is unreadable then have a look at the phone manufacturer's packaging for a white sticker/label. Near one bar code or another the IMEI would also be printed.

Note: The * # 0 6 # process does not work with the original iPhone, LG-WX3200 and LG-LX160 phones, or all Nextel (iDEN) handsets, or a RAZR V3m.

In case your mobile phone's stolen or you lost it, and you are lucky enough to find your phone's IMEI number and write it down before it happened, call or go to the nearest service center of your mobile network, and give that IMEI number to staff and ask them to block that number for a period of time, so no one can use your mobile phone for any illegal purpose.

Have you heard of Horcrux or Horcruxes? If you've read Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince, I'm sure you know what a Horcrux is. A Horcrux is a fictional magical object first introduced by J.K. Rowling in Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince. It is a Dark Magic device used by Lord Voldemort for the purpose of attaining mortality. Lord Voldemort's 7 Horcruxes are the main focus of the 6th Harry Potter book as well as the seventh one, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I am really fond of reading the whole Harry Potter series, actually, I just finished rereading Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince minutes ago (see, I'm getting ready for the movie).

Back to Horcruxes. According to J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter series author, a Horcrux can be created by committing a murder. Murder was said to be the supreme act of evil and thus by performing murder, you will rip your soul. After the murder, a spell is cast to infuse part of the ripped soul into an object, or a living thing, which becomes the Horcrux. One will become immortal as long as the Horcrux remains intact. Well, Lord Voldemort doesn't seem to be contented with a single Horcrux, he created seven.

What are the 7 Horcruxes?

1. Marvolo Gaunt's Ring- this is also called The Resurrection Stone. Marvolo Gaunt is Voldemort's maternal grandfather. This first Horcrux was created with the murder of Lord Voldemort's father, Tom Riddle,Sr. It was destroyed by Albus Dumbledore using Gryffindor's Sword.

2. Tom Riddle's Diary- the 2nd Horcrux which was destroyed by Harry Potter in the second book, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. This Horcrux was destroyed using Basilisk fang.

3. Helga Hufflepuff's Cup- this Horcrux was destroyed by Hermione Granger using the Basilisk fang in the seventh book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.

4. Salazar Slytherin's Locket- Lord Voldemort created this horcrux by killing a Muggle tramp. It was destroyed by Ron Weasley, Harry's friend using Gryffindor's sword.

5. Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem- a diadem is a tiara. This Horcrux was accidentally destroyed by Vincent Crabbe using Fiendfyre, a fire curse he used while dueling with Harry. (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows)

6. Harry Potter- yes, Harry Potter himself is a Horcrux. When the attempted Killing curse rebounded, a part of Voldemort's soul flew into the nearest living thing, Harry Potter. This Horcrux was destroyed when Voldemort used the Killing Curse, Avada Kedavra on Harry (Book 7) and failed to kill him again.

7. Nagini- she is Lord Voldemort's snake. Nagini became a Horcrux after the murder of Bertha Jorkins. It was destroyed by Neville Longbottom using the Sword of Gryffindor.


I guess I've written this post because I was so excited with Harry Potter and the Half-blood Prince movie. by the way, the movie will have its world premiere on July 15. So, Order-members, mark your calendars!!!

Rosalinda Pinoy Version Pilot Episode Soon on GMA

If I'm not mistaken, GMA's Rosalinda will air its first episode on July 6, Monday. Rosalinda is a very popular Mexican soap. This Pinoy version will sure be the buzz when it starts airing. I won't be surprised if people will then start searching for to Rosalinda Pinoy version episodes to watch online or even to download. Well, you won't see any of them available here, you know. Just ditch the idea of downloading Rosalinda stuff and just watch it on TV.

By the way, Rosalinda will be played by a Marian Rivera look alike, Carla Abellana. I think Carla Abellana is Rey "PJ" Abellana's daughter. Mr. Abellana is an actor himself and was popular in the 80's. The very handsome and talented Geoff Eigenmann will play Fernando Jose, Rosalinda's love interest. The rest of the cast include Roderick Paulate, Katrina Halili, Sheryl Cruz, Ariel Rivera, Marco Alcaraz, Maike Tan, Ryza Cenon and more.
