Sasha Vujacic, Maria Sharapova Got Engaged!

Los Angeles Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic says he's engaged to marry Russian tennis star Maria Sharapova.

"We are engaged and are both really happy," Vujacic said Thursday night before the Lakers' exhibition game against Golden State. "It's good and now we can focus on other things."

Vujacic said he proposed on the one-year anniversary of their first meeting at a friend's barbecue.

"It's was probably old school," Vujacic said. "I had to do it like a gentlemen."

A source reports that 29-year old singer Beyonce is pregnant with her first child with hubby rapper Jay-Z.

"B was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet," says a source of the singer, who married rapper Jay-Z in 2008. "She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again."

Beyonce pregnancy rumor first spread on March of this year, when a US-based website reported that Beyonce is pregnant and husband Jay-Z was "extremely happy to be having his first child with Bey."

OFW commits suicide in Gulf Air flight to Manila

A passenger was found dead inside the lavatory of a Gulf Air flight from Abu Dhabi to Manila on Wednesday, October 20.

The passenger was identified to be Marlon Cueva, a 36-year old overseas Filipino worker from Mariveles, Bataan.

Cueva was said to be already uneasy before take-off during their Bahrain connecting flight.

Minutes before the plane landed, the crew noticed Cueva wasn’t in his seat and was later found inside the plane’s comfort room.

Japan Minister Renho Vogue Photo Shoot Catches Flak

Popular Japan Cabinet Minister Renho apologized Friday for posing inside parliament for high-fashion photographs that opposition conservatives criticized as extravagant and a possible breach of rules.

The November issue of Vogue Nippon shows Government Revitalization Minister Renho wearing designer dresses in photos taken inside the Diet building. The Diet Building is the place where both the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors of Japan meet.

The Vogue Nippon November issue went on sale roughly a week ago but only became an issue Thursday, when a weekly magazine took it up.

"I frankly apologies if my action was inappropriate or caused concern, as that was not my intention," she said.

Former actor Patrick dela Rosa Accused For Rape

Actor-turned politician Patrick dela Rosa was placed under police custody last Friday, October 8. Patrick Dela Rosa, 45, was arrested early Friday morning for raping a 20-year-old female student at a friend’s Regalia Tower unit. Dela Rosa, a board member in Oriental Mindoro, and the victim had been drinking at the condominium with five other persons.

The victim said that the former actor took advantage of her drunkenness and raped her at around 4 a.m. The girl managed to get the help of her friends when she realized that Dela Rosa had raped her. They reported the incident to the building security officer and to the Cubao Police Station.

Patrick Dela Rosa remains detained at the Cubao police station pending the filing of appropriate charges.

Charlotte Motor Speedway Sinkhole

A 35-feet sinkhole appeared in the infield at the Charlotte Motor Speedway. According to sources, the large hole is the result of an underground collapse due to a deteriorating drainage pipe and not some new obstacle or blockage NASCAR drivers have to overcome at the annual fall races next week.

The sinkhole was first seen Friday night by the Charlotte Motor Speedway officials.

A few workers are now currently repairing the Charlotte Motor Speedway sinkhole in time for the Dollar General 300 Nationwide Series race on October 15 and the Bank of America Sprint Cup Series race on October 16 which will be held there.

Explosion Rocks the Bar Exams

At least 24 persons were injured when the explosion that rocked the De LaSalle University in Taft Avenue late afternoon. Vice Mayor Isko Moreno, who came to the scene and talked to the investigators, said the bar exams traditionally had unruly street celebrations.

“But this is extreme. The students have become adventurous and they don’t seem to realize that this isn't what their parents want for them,” he told the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Authorities say the explosive was likely from a pillbox, but it was unusual considering the gravity of the impact and the number of injured.

Victims brought to the Ospital ng Maynila were identified by the hospital’s Trauma Surgery Division as Joanna Katrina Ledda, Arvin Francis Rosales, Philip Edwin Teelo, Gennilyn Ong, Cyril Ferrer, Kathleen Samba, Azenith Gonzalvo, Jamell Ann Marie and Renald Sudla.

The nine others at the PGH were identified by the hospital’s spokesman, Dr. Michael Tee, as Raissa Laurel, 23; Diana Espiritu, 28; Claudine Abrogena, 21; Datu Mohammad Abdul, 23; Generson Mercado, 25; Milanes Rainier, 24; Eunice Abdon, 23; Diane Camita, 23; and Donelle Quilates, 28.

A friend from Qatar called me a few minutes ago just to ask if the news is true. He said that somebody forwarded a text message saying that Piolo Pascual died. Died?! Of course Piolo Pascual cannot die! I assured him that there is no such report about the death of Piolo Pascual. Piolo Pascual was rumored that he fell off a 60-feet cliff while shooting a film in New Zealand. The truth is, Piolo was at his home when rumors spread (tinext nya ko, hehehe).

I don't know why they want to "kill" Piolo, last year, there are also rumors about him getting killed in a car accident.

Jejemon Outbreak!!! Gotta Catch Them All: Jejemon!

So, there's a name for these irritating individuals who text or chat with you, or update their statuses like this: Eoww pfow, itz a hAff33 daY!!!

I know that was frustrating to read. I can't understand why folks would want to laugh like jejejeje. Another thing, texting has been a crucial, as in CRUCIAL task for me, I wasn't enjoying a bit of it, then why in the world would a person make a simple 2-letter word like "po" longer and unreadable (pfow)?

Here are some facts about Jejemons (can't believe there are actually facts about them):

1) Usually seen around social networking sites such as Friendster and Multiply, jejemons are individuals with low IQs who spread around their idiocy on the web by tYpFing LyK diZS jejejeje, making all people viewing their profile raise their eyebrows out of annoyance.

2) Jejemons are not just confined to trying-hard Filipino gangsters and emos. A Jejemon can also include a variety of Latino-Hispanic fags who enjoy typing "jejejejeje" in a wider context, much to the disdain of their opponents in an internet MMORPG game such as Ragnarok and DOTA.

3) Basically anyone with a low tolerance in correct punctuation, syntax and grammar. Jejemons are usually hated or hunted down by Jejebusters or the grammar nazi to eradicate their grammatical ways.

How do these jejemonsters or jejemons breed? Were they bitten by a Master jejemon? Are they the same as the vampires that sparkle, bitten and corrupted? What's the cure for these jejemons, do we have to tear them apart and burn every bit of their bodies? Just kidding. I guess we just have to ignore them and just thank the heavens they're not Gremlins who double in numbers when drenched in water.

'The earthquake was a result of Haiti's deal with the devil'. That was what The 700 Club televangelist Pat Robertson said. Robertson said that the devastating earthquake in Haiti was brought by the devil, with which Haitians made a pact or a deal not so long ago, when they (Haitians) wished that they be freed from the French rule.

What can I say about Pat Robertson? He is the most insensitive evangelist I ever know and I know a lot of insensitive and discriminating people, but Pat Robertson was really something!
