I don't believe in marriage. So what?

Yesterday a close friend got married. This morning I posted something like "just witnessed a friend got married. I'm not affected. I pity those who do it" on my Facebook profile. Okay, I'm not really sorry for my friend, I'm very happy for her. I just hated those people who keep bugging me "O kelan kayo?", "When are you guys going to be hitched?" and things like that. You see, I've been with my partner for almost 8 years now, had 2 kids and still not married. It's not that I never dreamed of getting hooked. I guess I just grew out of dreaming it. A reason why I'm still "legally single" in spite of everything? I DON'T BELIEVE IN MARRIAGE!!! (Well, I have many things that I don't believe in to, but that's another story) I don't believe that being married will give you that happy ever after feeling and I definitely don't agree with sticking into a relationship even if you aren't happy anymore. Yes, I'm one of those who believe that marriage is just a piece of paper. A piece of paper that you can shit into. A piece of paper that can be burned, soaked, and ripped. Another thing is I really can't imagine spending a lifetime with someone. I'm not even sure if I will feel the same with my partner 3 or four years from now. Life is full of surprises. I don't want to tie myself on someone and be surprised later. I want freedom when I want it.

Oh, and don't worry about my partner figuring out that I'm not really sure about him. He never cross this way. ;)

Re-validated my registration or whatever that's called

My sister and I just "re-validated" our voter's registration last Thursday, June 11. We decided to do coverage but we were too shy to bring her Nikon SLR inside our town's COMELEC office so the photos below were taken using my 4-year-old K700i.

Re-validation of voter's registration is relatively easy. Just fill out a form, yes, a form, just one form for those "just re-validating". (3 forms for freshies) After you have filled up the form correctly, with the correct mother's maiden name, your weight and height and all that, submit it to that lady (or gentleman) behind the desk. Oh, you are asking which lady (or gentleman)? I'll say you will know. Just go with the flow. Haha. Then another lady (or gentleman) will call you for that biometrics capturing. Hey, our government jumped a few steps of technology huh. Now they are doing some biometrics thing. Amazing. :D

So, after the biometrics capturing, your gorgeous photo will be taken then you will be told to have both your thumbs inked for that old-fashioned fingerprinting.

I guess that's all. Now all we have to do is wait for the damn Voter's ID and wish that we will have an election on 2010.

My kid got an Ezy Roller as birthday gift!

Yes, as the title said, my kid celebrated his 8th birthday last week and got an Ezy Roller as a gift! He was really happy with the gifts he received! Actually, the gifts were not surprise at all. He had written a list of gifts that he wanted and the oh so sweet aunts and uncles, friends and grandparents bought them all for him. Aside from that Ezy Roller, he got a basketball, a personalized children's plate, and a new shirt. He also got a Tales of Beedle the Bard book, and a pillow with his favorite cartoon character printed on it. What really surprised us is the toddler backpack that he got from a distant relative. Imagine an 8-year old receiving a toddler backpack as gift? But the kid very understands for his age, he agreed to just give the bag to his little sister. He said that he got what he wanted after all and this was his best birthday in eight years!

Kids' Backpacks as Gifts

Every time we have to attend a child's birthday party, don't we all fuss about what kind of gifts are we going to give? Yes, we can always give the usual shirt, toy, or book as gifts but we know that a child can get tired of the things we give them especially if it's the same stuff over and over! You can give away laundry bags for grown ups but that's not acceptable for a child. Why don't you give something very useful and unique like a personalized backpack or something really thoughtful like baby memory books? You can never go wrong with that. Every kid needs a backpack and I'm sure they'll love it if it's embroidered with their own name or if it's in their favorite color. A kid's backpack can serve as a schoolbag or an overnight bag. Make sure that it is made of sturdy material and choose what you think is the best color and style for him. So, next time you have a child's party to attend, you now have an idea what to give as a gift, which will surely be appreciated well.

What is SandBox?

What's this buzz about MySandBox.com all about?
Okay, to tell you honestly, I signed up for a SandBox account months ago because they are giving away free Krispy Kreme Chocolate Glazed Doughnut and coffee. Plain and simple. I signed up, got my voucher and forgot all about SandBox. But when I saw the ad on TV, I thought, "Hey, I have a SandBox account, can it get me anywhere?" For those who know nothing about Sandbox, or like me who signed up without any reason except doughnuts, here are some facts about MySandBox.com:

Sandbox is a portal that brings all content and services you love on the web all in one place.

In Sandbox, you can create your own profile and update your status for your friends to see. You can upload and view photos and videos, write a blog or join a forum discussion. You can also go shopping on line. You can send and receive email and download music, games and various other content.

• An online store that allows you to download music, games and movie-themed content to your mobile phone.
• Tunes, the music store features thousands of music tracks from the latest content - both from International and Local Stars.
• Because it’s delivered to your mobile, content will be charged to either your prepaid load or billed above your postpaid plan. (in Philippine Peso).
• MyGroups simplifies social networking to something visual, fun, intuitive and feature-filled but straightforward.
• Change your status, upload and download photos and videos, post blogs and send private
messages to friends in fewer clicks than it normally takes on other social networks.
• You can even create groups and your own mobile site.
• Forum discussions will keep you informed and hook you up with people interested in the same things.
• Find all these in just one place. No need to hop from site to site to site and suffer multiple sign-ups and logins. Sign up once, login once and enjoy the site.

One thing I really like about SandBox is the Digisoria. You can check out latest bargains and even post your own "for-sale" items. SandBox is only available for those who have Smart mobile numbers, so it is definitely useless for me, because I'm a loyal Globe subscriber! Anyway, thanks for that choco-glazed one! If you're interested, or would like to have a free doughnut from Krispy Kreme, click here.
